Sitter PantsDo you sit for most of the day? Do your pants ride down in the back? Sitter pants are much more comfortable for chair users! We have been making them for 16 years. They are cut higher in the back and lower in the front so they don't hit the ribs in front, or ride down in back. We offer the most moderately priced sitter pants on the internet! Other companies charge $120 for a custom pant pattern and $100 a pair for each pair of pants made from that pattern. We hem to your inseam, flare or narrow pant legs, and will fit your hips and thighs and add to the waist if your waist is larger than normal for your hips -- all at no extra charge. We are a bargain when you consider driving around, trying on pants in stores, and paying for gasoline, store overhead, and retail markups.
A Good Fit for a Sitter:Measure your hips, 7” down from your waist: With continued sitting, weight settles more around the middle than in hips and thighs. A better fit might be had by measuring your hips. The pattern that fits your hips can be made larger in the waist, creating a more slender fit in hips and thighs than the waist pattern would. If, for example, your waist is 44”: That pattern is designed for a hip 5” wider than the waist + 5” of ease to dress and sit comfortably (54”). If the 54” hips are too wide, you could elect to use the 42” pattern, which finishes with 52” hips. We would then add 2” to the waist. The 40” pattern has 50” hips, and with stretchy fabric, the waist has 4” of sideways stretch. If you are interested in more slender hips and thighs in your pant, lie down and find your bottom rib. Go around your body just under it with a measuring tape. That is your true waist. 7” below that is your true hip measurement. It’s good to measure again seated. With the chart below and these measurements you can tell whether you want the pattern designed for your waist, or your hips. If your waist is more than 6” larger than your hips, you will have to accept hips larger than you might like. For example, a 50” waist with 44” hips will have 56” hips if we use the 46” waist pattern, or 60” hips if we use the 50” pattern.
